EHPEA TVET Center delivered training on occupational health and safety (OHS) including risk assessment, OHS management system, OHS officer responsibilities, OHS Policy and its implementation strategies and risk assessment for EHPEA member farms.
The training delivered at Bishoftu town, Dream land hotel from August 22-25/2022 with a farm visit and experience sharing on the last day of the training.
A productive evaluation session on environmental compliance status of floriculture farms in Ethiopia held at Bishoftu/Debrezeit in the presence of Director General of Oromia Environment Protection Authority and officials of Federal Environment Protection Authority.
Participants drawn from EHPEA, cut flower and cutting farms, environmental compliance inspectors, trainers and the officials have discussed in detail the best practices, challenges, and the way forward after compliance status of farms is presented by both Federal and Oromia Inspectors.
The session is quite imperative to ensure the global competitiveness and sustainability of the Ethiopian floriculture industry.
A think-tank comprising notch experts on policy, production, research, crop protection, marketing, logistics, extension, academics and private sector development started today reviewing the draft national horticulture policy and national horticulture strategy at Adama.
The session is meant to further beef up the draft documents.
