Waste management is one of a cross-cutting issue for sustainable business climate of the horticulture sector. In line with this, EHPEA has been implementing wastewater management by supporting the construction of Wetland System of farms in partnership with ‘The Sustainable Trade Initiative (IDH) through the Floriculture Sustainable Initiative (FSI).

The main goal is to reduce environmental risks from the discharge of untreated wastewater, which in result enable farms to reuse treated water for production and other purposes and benefit farms in water saving. In addition, it will enhance the capacity of farms and local experts on wetland technology.

Similarly, biomass management (composting) through EDPHD, EHPEA is working in adopting technologies (bio-energy) to improve green water management practices and efficiency.
